Leadership Engagement
More than ever employee engagement is at an all-time low, with 77% of employees worldwide disengaged at work according to Gallup’s State of Work Report. Gallup estimates that low engagement costs the global economy US $8.8 trillion. This lack of employee engagement, which has recently been coined as quiet quitting, affects both the profitability of the organisation and the productivity of your team. This lack of engagement, particularly in the hybrid world, is a serious problem for the 21st Century and needs to be addressed.
We have designed a practical iEngage workshop for project and team managers to enable them to design and deliver a hybrid leadership engagement program. We have made the complex simple by bringing the key drivers of leadership engagement together in an organised way on the newly created iEngage rubik cube, which is evidenced in terms of empirical research, behavioural change science and best practice.
Each side of the cube is a visual representation of a leadership engagement strategy. It acts as a prompt and by using the cube, you learn to create simple, yet powerful, emotional engagement strategies and the ability to measure its effectiveness. This leads to an increase in the performance and productivity of your team.
The hands-on approach of the workshop ensures you gain a step-by-step, real-time experience of using the iEngage cube to build and evaluate your own leadership engagement strategy for your hybrid workforce.
This is a two day workshop, which can be delivered virtually or in-person. You will leave the workshop with a leadership engagement strategy which will be ready to launch on return to the hybrid workplace. You will also each receive the iEngage rubik cube.
The course will cover the six leadership engagement strategies, namely:
- Empathise
- Nurture
- Grow
- Align
- Guard
- Evaluate

Empathise
Relationship building in the remote workplace is the greatest challenge but leading with empathy can help you to build positive and engaging relationships. This practical session will give you the strategies and tools to sense and appreciate other people's feelings and emotions, which will help you to build strong emotional connections and drive engagement. This session will explore the four drivers of Empathise:
- Listen to Understand
- Suspend Judgement
- Focus on Emotion First
- Build Alliances

Nurture
You need to nurture your employees because when employees feel cared for and valued, they are more likely to engage and reengage. This practical session will give you the strategies and tools to connect and acknowledge the efforts of your team. By being intentional in connecting with your team and attentive to their needs, it will help to drive engagement, maintain their enthusiasm and energy levels as they deliver the project. This session will explore the four drivers of Nurture:
- Support Colleagues
- Be Responsive
- Give Feedback
- Show Appreciation

Grow
You need to help your team to develop a growth mindset and the resilience to perform under pressure. You need to help them to lean into the challenges and think positively. You need to teach them how to filter out the noise and focus on the important stuff. Then they will GROW. This session will explore the four drivers of Grow:
- Be willing to adapt
- Focus on can-do
- Never give-up
- Be Kind

Align
Team alignment is achieved when all team members begin with the same shared vision of success, all rowing in the same direction, and all understanding how what they do matters and contributes to the wider organisational purpose. You need to align your team, because when the team is aligned and feels connected to one another and feels part of a bigger purpose, they are more driven and engaged. This session will explore the four drivers of Align:
- Lead with Purpose
- Empower
- Celebrate Progress
- Treat Fairly

Guard
You need to create an environment where people are comfortable expressing and being themselves. This is important because for people to work well together and be engaged, they need an environment where it is possible and permissible to speak up. You want to create an environment where problems aren’t hidden but are openly discussed. You want to guard against people feeling anxious or fearful in the workplace, so that they can bring their best selves to work and fully engage. This session will explore the four drivers of Guard:
- Build Trust
- Encourage Curiosity
- Reframe Failure
- Respond Productively

Evaluate
You need to regularly measure the effectiveness of your leadership engagement strategies to ensure you and your team are making them intentional priorities as you deliver your projects and to evaluate the impact they are having on the team’s engagement. This session will explore the four drivers of Evaluate:
- Someone Cares?
- Kept in the Loop?
- Think Positive?
- Making Progress?
